Architecture of Fındıklı Caglayan Village

An important asset of Fındıklı that witnesses the history is the wooden Fındıklı mansions with dolma stone. The basic building materials of the mansions are wood and stone. The element that gives the building its main character and exterior appearance is the outer walls called "Dolma" or "Göz Dolma". In this wall system, the wooden skeleton of the wall is divided into boxes like a shelf system in order to place the filling stones. The filling stones placed in the compartments are polished flood stones the size of cobblestones and one is placed in each compartment. The space between the stone and the wood is plastered with a mixture of sifted clay and lime putty, the color of which is white. Fındıklı Caglayan Stone Mansions

With its magnificent green, Fındıklı, a village embedded in nature, is one of the most touristy places in Rize in the north of Turkey. Fındıklı, whose name was Viçe's in the past, is famous for its clean air and unique forests. Fındıklı, which is among the must-see places to experience nature and relax in peace and quiet, hosts unique moments with its vegetation, streams and endless greenery.

Fındıklı Stone Bridge

It is an arch bridge located in Fındıklı district of Rize. The bridge is 27 meters long and 13 meters high. Its width is 2.4 meters. It is 8 kilometers away from Fındıklı district. It is located on Çağlayan Creek. Although it is written that it was built in 1924 according to the river stone attached to the chain hanging from the bridge, it is not known exactly when it was built. Local people state that this date is the date of the repair of the bridge, which was destroyed after the flood. The arch of the bridge is made of cut stones and the foundation walls and piers are made of rubble stone. The bridge is covered with flat river stones.ır

Caglayan Stream

Çağlayan Stream is a river in the Fındıklı district of Rize province, which flows into the Black Sea. The source of the river is about 2600 meters above sea level and the length of the river is about 34.7 kilometers. The bed slope of the river is 75.

Mençuna Waterfalli       

Mençuna Waterfall ranks first among the must-see places in the Black Sea with its magnificent structure. The 90-meter-high waterfall and the lake it forms at the end of the waterfall and the lush green forests around it create a magnificent view. The waterfall water, which is home to red-spotted trout, meets the Kamilet stream. On the stream paths around the waterfall, there are historical bridges made of cut stones and natural beauties covered with rich vegetation similar to rainforests.

Gürcüdüzü Plateau

Gürcüdüzü Plateau is located at an altitude of 910 meters in Fındıklı District. With a dense forest and lush vegetation, it is among the most well-known and visited plateaus of the district. Çağlayan stream passes through the plateau, which is a favorite of nature sports and forest walks.

Çamlik Plateau

Çamlık Plateau is a plateau in the Fındıklı district of Rize province. The altitude is 2100 meters. It is 46 kilometers away from Fındıklı. Çağlayan Creek passes through the plateau. Transportation to the plateau is provided from Artvin's Arhavi district. It was established at the foot of Marsis Mountain. The area of the plateau is 15 square kilometers.

Gursu Village Bridge 

The masonry bridge is an arch bridge with two supports. Rubble stone and cut stone were used as materials in the bridge with a single eye and arch. While cut stone material was used in the arch part, rubble stone was used in other parts. The length of the bridge extending in the east-west direction is approximately 13.00 meters and its width is 2.30 meters. According to its architectural features, it dates to the early 20th century.

Caglayan Bridge

What makes this bridge, whose construction date is unknown, unique is that it is located over the Abu Hayat stream passing through the center of Fındıklı.

Meyveli Village Mosque

Meyveli Village Mosque, one of the wooden masonry mosques, was built in 1871. The mosque, whose ground floor is a madrasah, consists of two floors and has a minbar mirror and a mahfil pavilion in the facade decorations.

Sakura Plateau

It is a plateau located in Fındıklı district of Rize province. Its altitude is 2738 meters. It is 38 kilometers away from Fındıklı. Transportation to the plateau is provided on foot from Çamlık Plateau. The climbing route to Marsis Mountain passes through this plateau. The area of the plateau is 9 square kilometers. It is 26 km to the nearest settlement, Aslandere village.
